The delicious potatoes are cultivated in Hokkaido’s refreshing climate, characterized by significant temperature differences between day and night. Grown in fields where the environment is optimized through joint research with farmers, the potatoes undergo quality inspections after harvest and are stored under strict temperature control. Another key element creating a flavor unique to Hokkaido is Okhotsk salt. Produced from the brackish waters of Lake Saroma, the seawater is slowly simmered in kettles to create a mild-tasting salt. Rather than relying on efficient mass production, each batch is crafted carefully and in small quantities. Manufactured exclusively at a factory in Hokkaido, Jaga Pokkuru’s unique production method delivers a signature crispy-yet-fluffy texture and the authentic taste of Hokkaido potatoes.
